Maya Medeiros, Partner, Norton Rose Fullbright
Maya Medeiros is a partner, Intellectual Property (IP) lawyer, patent agent (Canada, U.S.) and trademark agent (Canada, U.S.) and has a degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from University of Toronto. She is an expert in artificial intelligence and other computer related technologies. She advises on IP strategy to map client innovation to patent, trademark, copyright, industrial design and confidential information strategies. She also drafts and negotiates agreements relating to IP assets, such as licenses, confidentiality agreements, system access agreements, and collaboration agreements. She is an adjunct professor at Osgoode Hall Law School, York University and teaches a course on the Commercialization of Intellectual Property.
Julianna Paprakis, Software Engineer, Snap Inc.
Julianna has worked for Snapchat for just over a year, after graduating from the Computer Science program at UofT with a specialist. She has specifically worked on the Bitmoji Identity team, working on backend APIs, the Android app, and internal tools to help artists get their Bitmoji artwork into the app more efficiently.
Before Snapchat, Julianna did internships at TripAdvisor, Uken Games, and UofT, and she was a Teaching Assistant throughout her studies. She also has a Business Degree from Ryerson before she decided to do a career switch to Computer Science.

Zoe Song, Software Developer, Tulip Retail
Zoe Song studied Computer Science at the University of Toronto. During her time in school, she furthered her passion to give back to the community by being a peer mentor for first year CS students and a graphic designer for You’re Next Career Network. She revived Women in CS group with Catherine Chen and 6 other students, and successfully executed 3 initiatives (Tea Time with Profs, Weekly Tech Interview Prep, and Office Tours) in her final year.
She interned at CanadaStays and TripAdvisor, then proceeded to work in a fast growing startup, Tulip, after graduating in June 2017. In her free time, Zoe loves to explore Toronto and pick up new hobbies like yoga and photography.
